I just love to travel. It really doesn’t have to be a far away trip for me to relax, laugh and become inspired once again after a stretch of hard work. When I happen upon something unusual I don’t forget it. I recently took a short trip with dotter to attend her culinary arts competition in Yakima, Washington. I had a memory of eating dinner in a train there once.
I had to find that place. I did.
But then a new experience came my way. It involved cupcakes. It was good.
When I was little, our family excursions almost always included a stop at bakeries. My mom worked in a bakery from the time I was five years old and visiting bakeries was a source of inspiration for her art. It’s a habit that is hard to break. Not that I’d want to. Ever.
Truly Scrumptious Cupcakery Bakery was such a cute little place that we had to bring dotter back during her free time.
Each cupcake is a smile creator.
Mike & Lana Wharton, are the proud owners of Yakima’s first cupcakery bakery. When they aren’t making swirly smiles, they love to travel too.
Could this be any cuter?
A colorful chalkboard always makes me ever so happy.
I love feeling girly when I eat a great cupcake.
And lattes too!
My favorite… Bavarian cream filled with perfect chocolate frosting. Outstanding!
Of course, the red velvet topped with cream cheese icing was not to be outdone. Oh my.
Thank you, Truly Scrumptious, for a memory our taste buds shall never forget.
