Caramel Latte Sundae. Yay for summer! Yay for ice cream!
Caramel Latte Sundae
Makes 6 servings.
I do enjoy my homemade sauces so today I’m sharing this thick & yummy caramel recipe with you!
- 9 cups Dreyer’s Slow Churned Coffee Ice Cream
- 1 recipe vanilla whipped cream
- 1 recipe salted caramel sauce (recipe below)
- 1 cup coffee beans (optional)
- 1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)
Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Melt butter over medium heat in a saucepan. Add brown sugar to melted butter and turn heat up to medium-high. Whisk together until sugar has dissolved. Watch closely. When sauce starts to boil and get foamy looking, allow to cook for about two minutes. Carefully add vanilla, salt, & cream. Remove from heat and stir. Set aside to cool.
Caramel is like the pretty girl you meet that you think is stuck up but as it turns out she’s really sweet. It might be intimidating at first but as long as you stir it a lot, it’s really easy to make.
Yay for caramel sauce!
Place 1 1/2 cups of ice cream in each mug. Divide toppings so each of the six cups gets an equal share. Serve immediately.
Step aside, coffee shop… coffee ice cream, homemade caramel sauce and whipped cream topped with coffee beans are the new cool beans.
